Hi! My name is Melissa but go by Velzy in the art world.

Creativity has always been a way for me to connect with the world. As a young girl I was drawn to nature and as I grew older, I began to see how it is such an amazing way to bring us closer to everything around us. From community to plants and animals…and ultimately ourselves.

A lot of my artistic influences come from the great outdoors, specifically the jungle of Hana, Maui. I lived in a treehouse off-grid there for many years and it taught me so much about how to care for the land and people around me. The jungle definitely brought out my ‘wild side” and I love to express its beauty in my paintings. I’m currently traveling the world and am so grateful to be able to explore new places because of my art and find new inspiration anywhere I go.
